Franklin C. (Clark) Micklethwaite, 68, originally of Salisbury, Maryland, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early in the morning of Sunday, October 5, 2014. He was born April 17, 1946 to Beverly and Lloyd Micklethwaite and is survived by his wife Linda Micklethwaite and sister Diane Jones. After High School Clark proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966-1970 and was a graduate of Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. After pastoring for a time in Rhode Island, and responding to a desire to be a help to ministry in New York City, the Micklethwaites moved to Brooklyn in 1993 and began helping out at Bay Ridge Baptist Church. In the spring of 1996 they became involved with a Bible study which the Lord ultimately used as the basis for the establishment of Bethel Baptist Fellowship of Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn where the couple have served in various capacities for the past seventeen years. While participating in the ministry of Bethel, Clark worked in the security industry and also volunteered as a chaplain in the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Clark enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, jogging, and, most importantly, reading and studying the Word of God. He especially loved having Bible studies with new believers, and he had a passion for praying for revival. Clark had a deep burden for New York City and yearned to see souls saved there. He also had great love and respect for Israel and the Jewish people. Clark?s favorite verses were John 3:30 and Psalm 105:1-4.
